Is embedding anything to WordPress via Vodpod still just a dream? Lets see what can be done…

I just read a blog post about how you can use Vodpod to embed any flash site into WordPress, so I am trying now to embed a Issuu catalogue… I am writing this post directly from the Vodpod’s embed form, here the Isuu paste code appears succesfully, let’s see if it works on WordPress….

… Continuing from WordPress dashboard, no it doesn’t. (The blank space you see above, is actually where the embed code is, and where the embedded file should appear- and it shows perfectly inside Vodpod!). You can see the way interactive Issuu catalogue appears in Vodpod by clicking  here.
Geekycoder, and Digital Boy, I guess embedding anything into WordPress is still, and probably will remain just a dream.
In the mean time, apart from Isuu,  I tried embedding Flickrslidrand Google maps, none of which are working (not even in Vodpod in these cases since it is not allowing “videos” from these sites).
So far, the only interesting extra feature that I was able to find THAT WORKS was embedding Picasa web albums into WordPress via Vodpod. Apart from that, you can also embed Vimeo videos, that have a much neater interface than Google Video, or Youtube, so this is nice. But still, we’re talking about embedding video, not ANYTHING from the Web. (Sigh.)

If you find any new useful solution to the old problem of inability to embed anything java or flash into WP, feel free to comment.
